Publié à l'occasion des expositions éponymes au Centre Pompidou Metz, de février à août 2016, et à la galerie Kamel Mennour, Paris, en 2011. Tadashi Kawamata (né en 1953 à Mikasa, sur l'île d'Hokkaido, vit et travaille à Tokyo et Paris) a réalisé des œuvres architecturales in situ dans le monde entier. En 1982, à seulement 28 ans, il est sélectionné pour la Biennale de Venise, avant de participer à la Documenta de Cassel en 1987. En 2005, il prend la direction artistique de la Triennale de Yokohama. Professeur à l'Ecole des beaux-arts de Paris, il a depuis exposé au Madison Square Garden de New York en 2008, dans le cadre d'Evento à Bordeaux en 2009, au Centre Pompidou en 2010, à Chaumont-sur-Loire en 2011, ou encore à Gand et Abu Dhabi en 2012. En 2013, il participe à Art Basel, érige la tour participative Collective Folie dans le Parc Villette à Paris et, dans le cadre de Marseille-Provence 2013, réalise l'installation in situ permanente Les Sentiers de l'eau à travers la Camargue.
