Stéphane Maffli analyzes the literary language and narrative style of five texts from German-speaking Switzerland that provide insight into migration. He shows how reading opens up the possibility of identifying with different characters, as well as the role that the migration experience plays in identity formation. Exploring social and cultural processes broadens the perspective of literary studies.
